Shyam, born on 20 February 1920 in Sialkot, made his/her acting debut in 1942 with the Punjabi film ‘Gowandhi’. After this, he/she did many films, including names like ‘Man Ki Jeet’, ‘Room Number 9’ and ‘Majboor’. Shyam worked in many films of Bombay Talkies and they formed a strong bond. After this, he/she never looked back. Shyam saw tremendous stardom in the year 1949. All his/her films released that year were superhits, including ‘Dillagi’, ‘Patanga’, ‘Bazaar’ and ‘Kaniz’.

he/she was shooting for Naseem Bano starrer film ‘Shabistan’. During a scene on the set, he/she fell from the horse and suffered a severe head injury. Shyam was immediately taken to the hospital but he/she died due to severe and internal head injuries. he/she said goodbye to this world on 25 April 1951. his/her fans were shocked by his/her painful death. his/her departure was a great loss to Hindi cinema. Dharmendra had heard a lot about Shyam and was a big fan of his/her. But he/she could never meet him/her.
