In his/her first match of the current tournament against India, Shahzeb scored 159 runs in 147 balls with the help of 10 sixes and 5 fours. This is the highest score by any batsman from Pakistan against India in this tournament. During this, he/she broke the record of compatriot Sami Aslam, who had played an inning of 134 runs on 124 balls against India in 2012. Thanks to Shahzeb’s brilliant innings, Pakistan started the tournament on a winning note by defeating India by 43 runs. Pakistan has defeated India for the fifth time in the history of the tournament.
