New Delhi. The BCCI senior selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar has announced Team India for the first Test against Bangladesh. Left arm pacer Yash Dayal has been included in the 16-member Test squad for the first time. Yash Dayal took 4 wickets in the recently concluded Duleep Trophy first round match. Dayal is the same bowler in whose one over Rinku Singh hit 5 consecutive sixes in the IPL. Yash Dayal was part of the Gujarat Titans team in 2023 while Rinku plays for KKR. Rinku gave his/her team a memorable victory by hitting five consecutive sixes.

Yash Dayal, born on 13 December 1997 in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, was turned away by Gujarat Titans after he/she conceded 5 sixes in that one over in the 2023 IPL. After that, he/she was roped in by Royal Challengers Bangalore. In the 2024 IPL, Dayal regained his/her rhythm and bowled brilliantly for RCB.

Yash Dayal is currently playing for India B in the Duleep Trophy 2024. he/she took 4 wickets in the match against India A in the first round match played in Bengaluru. 26-year-old Dayal has taken 76 wickets in 26 first class matches, including one 5-wicket haul and 5 4-wicket hauls. Dayal has 32 wickets in 20 List A matches, while he/she has taken 53 wickets in 56 T20 matches. The first Test match of the 2-match series between India and Bangladesh will be played in Chennai from September 19, while the second and last Test will be played in Kanpur from September 27.
