New Delhi. England fast bowler Gus Atkinson has created history on the New Zealand tour. Atkinson registered his/her name in the pages of history by taking a hat-trick on the second day of the second Test match against New Zealand at the Basin Reserve. he/she became the 14th bowler to take a hat-trick for England in a Test. Apart from this, this is the first hat-trick of any bowler in Test in Basin Reserve. After a hat-trick by Atkinson (31/4), aggressive batting led by Jacob Bethel (96) and Ben Duckett (92) helped England reach 533 runs by scoring 378 runs for five wickets in their second innings on the second day of the second Test match against New Zealand. Gained a big lead.

At the end of the day’s play, Joe Root was batting on 73 runs and captain Ben Stokes was batting on 35 runs. With this half-century, Root made his/her 100th score of 50 or more in Test. he/she became the fourth batsman to achieve this feat. After taking a lead of 155 runs over New Zealand in the first innings, England batted fearlessly in the second innings. Atkinson is 26 years old and is playing the 10th Test of his/her career while he/she has also played 9 ODIs and three T20 International matches. he/she had kept his/her base price at Rs 2 crore in the IPL auction but no franchise showed interest in buying him/her.
