New Delhi. Former India all -rounder Sreedharan Shriram will be the Assistant Balling Coach of Chennai Super Kings in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL 2025). The 5 -time champion CSK team announced on Monday. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) posted on ‘X’ and posted, ‘Salute to our assistant bowling coach Shriram Sreedharan. From Chepock’s pitch to Australia and Bangladesh, Sreedharan, who gave coaching for many years, has gone on this new journey with pride.

Former left -arm spin bowling will work with Stephen Fleming (head coach), Mike Hussey (batting coach) and Eric Simmons (bowling advisor) in the team. CSK’s spin bowling lineup includes R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Shreyas Gopal, Noor Ahmed, Deepak Hooda and Rachin Ravindra.

Sreedharan (49 years) will replace Dwayne Bravo who has now joined the mentor (guide) of the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders. Shriram has earlier worked as an assistant coach of Australia till 2016-2022 and has later worked as T20 Advisor of Bangladesh for the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup. he/she also worked as a technical advisor before the ODI World Cup. In the IPL, he/she has worked with Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) and Lucknow Super Giants. Dhoni has been the captain of CSK. he/she has made CSK 5 times champions under his/her captaincy.

CSK failed to make a place in the playoffs in the last session and finished fifth from Royal Challengers Bangalore at net run rate. CSK will take on the home ground with Mumbai Indians in its opening match of IPL on 23 March. The tournament will begin with the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Eden Gardens a day before this.
