Although Amit Shah is leading in the latest survey of India Today Group, his/her rating of 25 per cent is lower than the previous Mood of the Nation survey of February 2024 and August 2023.

This survey of India Today Group is conducted every six months. In the last two surveys, 28 percent and 29 percent of the people chose Amit Shah as the successor of PM Modi. The August 2024 survey also revealed that more than 31 percent of people in South India believe that Amit Shah is the best choice as BJP’s prime ministerial candidate after PM Modi. Amit Shah has got 31 percent support in South India compared to 25 percent support across the country.

The names of Rajnath and Shivraj are rapidly coming forward

Amit Shah Like Shah, the percentage of people supporting Yogi Adityanath has also declined. Yogi Adityanath’s support dropped from 25% in August 2023 to 24% in February 2024. Now only 19% of people see him/her as a suitable successor to PM Modi within the BJP. About 13% of people chose Nitin Gadkari as a possible alternative. However, with Amit Shah and Yogi Adityanath’s ratings falling, the question naturally arises – who is benefiting?
