Who called India’s fielding a ‘pack of wolves’, whom did SKY thank

Bridgetown. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah presented the Best Fielder award to Suryakumar Yadav who took a brilliant catch of the dangerous David Miller which proved to be decisive in India’s victory.

Indian fielding coach T Dilip had started the practice of choosing the ‘best fielder’ to motivate the players. he/she praised the Indian team’s fielding as a ‘pack of wolves’ who left no stone unturned to give their best.

Dilip said, “We talk about performing according to the occasion in big matches but today we did not just perform but won.” he/she said, “The passion, unity and resilience we showed throughout the tournament and today is nothing less than extraordinary.”

Dilip said, “We fielded like a ‘pack of wolves’. As Rahul bhai and Rohit keep saying. Everyone knew their role, but together we took advantage of every opportunity and left no stone unturned.” India made a brilliant comeback and denied South Africa the chance to win their first World Cup title, in which Suryakumar Yadav’s catch in the last over was decisive.

Suryakumar set a great example with his/her patience and timely catch. When he/she caught David Miller, South Africa needed just 16 runs in the last over. After receiving this award, Suryakumar said, “Dilip Sir, thank you for giving me this opportunity and receiving this medal from Jay (Shah) Sir.”

It is worth mentioning that on Saturday, India won the T20 World Cup by defeating South Africa by seven runs in a thrilling match, ending its 11-year wait for the ICC title. The dream that remained unfulfilled in Ahmedabad on November 19 last year finally came true in the West Indies, and the eyes of Indian cricket fans sitting glued to the TV with Rohit Sharma’s team also became moist.

There was a long wait of 11 years for this ICC title and the hero of the victory was Virat Kohli who also bid farewell to T20 cricket along with the victory. India won the first T20 World Cup in 2007 and the last ICC title was Champions Trophy in South Africa in 2013 under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Last year, the team lost to Australia in the ODI World Cup final in India.
