What are the five categories of EB Visa?

Every year 6.75 lakh Employment Based (EB) Visa/Green Cards are issued by America, which is the proof of granting permanent residency to the people. There are five categories of EB visa, which are explained in details below.

EB-1 view: This visa is given by USCIS to those foreigners who have exceptional ability in their field. If an Indian has exceptional ability in the field of science, arts, educational, business or athletics, then he/she can apply for this visa.

EB-2 view: This is the second category of employment based visa. Under this, visa is given to those people who have advanced degree or exceptional ability in their respective field. If someone is working in the national interest of America, then he/she can also be allowed to stay permanently under this visa.

EB-3 view: Under this category of visa, permanent residency is given to those people who are skilled workers, professionals or other workers. It takes the most time to get this visa. Indians get maximum permanent residency under this category.

EB-4 View: This visa is for certain immigrants who do not fit into the other categories. EB-4 visas are often granted to people practicing religious beliefs, but they are also sometimes granted to foreign nationals who have served in the US military and doctors.

EB-5 view: The fifth category of employment based visa is EB-5 visa. Through this, permanent residency is given to those people who invest in an American company. Under this, investment has to be made in such companies which provide employment to at least 10 people.
