Where does such rain occur in December… Uncomfortable silence and angry nature of Manmohan Singh’s house

New Delhi: ‘It has been raining since this morning, where does such rain occur in December…It seems that even the sky is gloomy after Dr. Saheb’s departure.’ said one person among the media gathering outside Dr Manmohan Singh’s residence. Data related to the Meteorological Department shows that the last time such rain occurred in December was 15 years ago. The house at 3 Motilal Nehru Marg has been the residence of Dr. Manmohan Singh for the last ten years, before that it was the residence of Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit. The presence of police barricades outside the house is enough to express the uneasiness of the serious atmosphere. A gathering of national and international media can be seen outside the bungalow wearing raincoats, somehow protecting the cameras. Many senior journalists were seen sharing their journalistic experience with each other. There was a steady stream of politicians outside the bungalow amid tight security and a crowd of media. In the form of tribute and respect, politicians were seen coming to Manmohan Singh’s house to pay his/her respects. Inside the bungalow, people from the first row of Congress to the ground row gathered to see Dr Singh for the last time.

‘The people of the country are shedding tears’

Remembering him/her, a Congress worker who came from Kirari, Delhi, said that what Manmohan Singh did for the country is visible today when not only Congress workers but many people of the country are shedding tears. Meanwhile, Sachin Pilot comes out of the bungalow, Pilot is from that generation, which would have seen the doors of economy opening in 91. Sachin, surrounded by journalists amidst the drops falling from the sky, while talking about his/her closeness, tells how the policies during the UPA period gave something or the other to every section of the society.

‘From young leaders to those with…’

After this, Shashi Tharoor, who had worked with former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh in the UPA government, comes out after paying tribute, addresses the media and remembers Dr. Manmohan Singh. Party MP Gaurav Gogoi is seen coming on foot, with white flowers in his/her hand. Another worker from Delhi told us, Manmohan Singh, who was an easy-going and simple PM, lived up to his/her statements. When I heard about him/her, I couldn’t help myself.

There was silence at Congress headquarters

There is silence amidst the rain at the Congress headquarters just a short distance away. On the one hand, apart from the media cameras, only a few people are seen in the entire complex. Dr Singh’s picture is installed at the entrance itself, where the workers are paying their respects to him/her by offering flowers. his/her mortal remains will be kept here on Saturday for the last darshan of the people. Manmohan Singh used to work silently, this was his/her style of work. Today he/she is silent, but the world has so much to tell about his/her memories. One story leads to another. Even though the roads of the roundabout at 3 Motilal Nehru Marg are silent, nature is raining and registering its sorrow.
