New Delhi : Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar said that there is no country in the world that can match India. If we talk about the richness of language, we are a unique nation. We have many languages. As the Chairman of Rajya Sabha, I got this opportunity that our members can speak 22 different languages. They did not let go of this opportunity. When I listen to them giving speeches in their own language, I do listen to the translation, but their body language itself tells me what they are saying. I can understand what they are saying, they are the best. That is why a very big revolutionary step has come in this country after three decades. That is the National Education Policy. In this, a lot of emphasis has been given on the mother tongue.

Jagdeep Dhankhar spoke on the occasion of International Literacy Day

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar further said that mother tongue is different because it is the language in which we dream. I appeal to the states that have not adopted the National Education Policy to reconsider and think again because this policy is a game-changer. Vice President Dhankhar made this appeal while presiding over a program organized in New Delhi on the occasion of International Literacy Day. On this occasion, he/she called upon the countrymen to take a resolution under which all educated people should work to teach at least one illiterate person.

Mention of peacock as a comment on the education system

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar said that when he/she first became a Member of Parliament, India’s economy was smaller than the city of London. Today, our economy is bigger than the whole of England. When a peacock dances, we are happy, but when a peacock looks at its feet, it sheds tears. This little deficiency in education, these are the peacock’s feet, we should pledge to remove this deficiency. he/she also described the new National Education Policy as a revolutionary step. The Vice President said that this revolutionary step was taken in the country after three decades. Our new National Education Policy emphasizes on mother tongue. he/she termed the National Education Policy as a game changer. he/she says that it gives importance to all Indian languages.

‘Every 6 months we educate one person’

The Vice President said that mother tongue is a different matter. It is the language in which we dream. Our life is spent in realising these dreams. Today, a great journey of ‘Developed India 2047’ is going on in the whole country. Everyone is a part of it. This is a havan, everyone is making their own sacrifice in it. One of our sacrifices in this havan should also be that we educate one person every 6 months.

Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar said that today is Rishi Panchami on Sunday. It has a great significance in Indian culture. Rishi tradition means that no matter who is in power, no matter what the system of governance is, the sages try to show the right path. This is the basis of our thousands of years old heritage. On this auspicious day, while paying homage to our culture, we should take a pledge that we will educate one person in the next 6 months, so that we can educate at least two people in a year.

Members of Parliament in Rajya Sabha can speak in 22 different Indian languages ​​inside the House. When I hear Members of Parliament speaking in their language in Rajya Sabha, their body language itself tells me what they are saying.
