When should I apply for fall intake in the US? Know the complete timeline here

Fall Intake Admission Process: In America, students are admitted in three intakes, which include Fall, Winter and Summer intake. Fall intake is also known as September intake. This intake is most popular for admission among foreign students. Because of this, many top universities of America offer admission at this time. However, you will have to prepare a year in advance for admission to the fall intake.
Admission for the fall intake for 2024 has closed, but preparations can be made now for admission in 2025. This is because it takes a lot of time to get admission in America, due to which it is necessary to prepare for admission six-seven months in advance. Fall intake begins in late August and the first week of September, running between September and December. Most of the students from India choose the fall intake to study in America.

Timeline for admission into fall intake

If you also want to go to America to study next year, then you should start preparing from now itself. Here we are assuming that your classes will start from September 2025, whereas in some colleges, studies start in October also. Let us know about the admission timeline accordingly.

• September-December 2024: During this time, you can start the application process for admission in September 2025.
• January-February 2025: In most of the colleges, the dates to apply for admission and upload documents are in these months.
• February-April 2025: Admission offer letters are received from universities. Then students can prepare the necessary documents for Form I-20.
• May-July 2025: Form I-20 will be accepted and schedule visa appointments and interviews.
• August 2025: Prepare to go to America and board a flight to begin studies.
• September 2025: This month you will have orientation and then classes will start.
