When I faced misbehavior… What did Rahul Gandhi mention in his/her letter to the people of Wayanad

New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday wrote an emotional letter to the people of Wayanad, saying that when he/she faced daily abuse, their (Wayanadites’) unconditional love protected him/her. Rahul had won from Wayanad in Kerala and Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh Lok Sabha constituencies and had to vacate one of these seats within 14 days of the Lok Sabha results on June 4. he/she left the Wayanad seat and his/her sister and Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi will contest from there in the upcoming by-election.

Rahul has written in the letter, I was a stranger to you and yet you believed in me. You embraced me with immense love and affection. It did not matter which political party you supported, which community you belonged to, or which religion you followed, or which language you spoke.

When I faced daily abuse, your unconditional love protected me. You sheltered me, you were my home and my family. Not for a moment did I feel like you doubted me.

The Congress leader said that if the people give a chance to his/her sister Priyanka Gandhi, she will represent Wayanad. Rahul expressed confidence that Priyanka will do a great job as an MP. After the New Delhi meeting, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge had said on June 17 that Rahul will keep the Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh and vacate the Wayanad seat from where his/her sister Priyanka will contest the elections.

Rahul also said in his/her letter written on Sunday that he/she cannot forget the bravery, beauty and confidence with which the girls translate his/her speeches in front of thousands of people.
