Iyer said in a statement, “Lancashire is a historic county team that has welcomed many Indian players to its club. I am excited to join the list of players like Farooq Engineer, Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman and recently Washington Sundar to play in the Red Rose colors at Old Trafford. This will be the perfect time to test my skills in ODI and first class games in England.”

After scoring a lot of runs for Kolkata Knight Riders, he/she also got a place in Team India. Venkatesh Iyer made his/her T20 debut against New Zealand in Jaipur in November 2021.
