New Delhi. Indian cricket team’s head coach Gautam Gambhir’s coaching tenure with Team India will begin from July 26. The Indian team will play 3 T20 and three ODI series in Sri Lanka. Team India’s Sri Lanka tour will begin with T20. The first match will be played on 26th while the second on 27th July. The ODI series will begin from August 1. This will be the first series with the new head coach of both the teams. Sri Lanka will enter this series with the team’s interim head coach Sanath Jayasuriya, while this will be Gautam Gambhir’s first assignment with Team India. Rahul Dravid had a coaching contract with the Indian team till the T20 World Cup.

All three T20 matches between India vs Sri Lanka (IND vs SL) will be played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, while the ODI series matches will be held at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The Indian team last visited Sri Lanka in 2021 for a limited overs cricket series. Then Rahul Dravid was appointed as the acting coach of Team India in the series, while Shikhar Dhawan went to Sri Lanka as captain. India won the ODI series 2-1 while Sri Lanka won the T20 series by the same margin. The matches of the T20 series will be played on 26, 27 and 29 July, while the ODI series matches will be held on 1, 4 and 7 August.

India will play second T20 series after T20 World Cup
