‘How far is the principal’s house from the hospital’

As soon as the hearing of the Kolkata case began, the three-judge bench headed by the CJI looked at the status report. The CJI asked how far was the principal’s house from the hospital? On this, the Solicitor General said that it takes 15 to 20 minutes to reach the hospital by RG from Sandeep Ghosh’s house. After this, the CJI asked the next question that what was the time of unnatural death? When was this death entered? Kapil Sibal, while answering, said that the death certificate was received at 1.47 pm and the entry regarding unnatural (UD) death was made at 2.55 am. The court questioned on this that then why did it take so much time to register an FIR?
The next hearing will be on September 17
CJI DY Chandrachud concluded the hearing saying that we have seen the direction of further investigation, we do not want to comment on it in open court. We want a status report by Monday, let the CBI proceed on the basis of its investigation. The status report has been filed by the CBI, it appears that the investigation is going on, so we give them one more week. We will see it on Tuesday, let’s see what happens then and we do not want to give any advice to the CBI on its investigation.
