After Justice Sanjeev Khanna becomes CJI, there is going to be a change in his/her salary as well as his/her house and allowances. How much salary does the CJI get?

Supreme Court judge Sanjeev Khanna is going to become the new Chief Justice of the country. he/she will take oath as CJI on November 11. As soon as he/she becomes Chief Justice, his/her salary will increase by 30 thousand. According to the Department of Justice, a Supreme Court judge is given a salary of Rs 2.50 lakh every month, but when he/she is made CJI, his/her salary becomes Rs 2.80 lakh. In such a situation, after becoming CJI, the salary of Justice Sanjeev Khanna will be Rs 2.80 thousand.

What facilities does the CJI get?

Apart from a salary of Rs 2.80 lakh every month, the Chief Justice of the country also gets many other facilities. The CJI is given a hospitality allowance of Rs 45,000. Along with this, they get a lump sum of Rs 10 lakh as furnishing allowance. The CJI of the country gets a Type 7 bungalow and 24*7 security. Along with this, a servant, helper, driver and a clerk are also available. If the Chief Justice travels somewhere during his/her duty, he/she is also paid his/her expenses. Along with this, they are also given 200 liters of fuel every month for their vehicle.

Who is Justice Sanjeev Khanna?

Justice Sanjeev Khanna is a well-known name in the world of law. he/she started practicing law in 1983 and worked for many years in different courts. Later he/she was made a judge in Delhi High Court. Justice Khanna started his/her career by registering with the Delhi Bar Council. Initially he/she practiced law in Tis Hazari court of Delhi. Later, he/she showed his/her skills in many different types of cases before going to Delhi High Court. he/she gained his/her expertise in areas like Constitutional Law, Arbitration, Commercial Law, Company Law and Criminal Law. In the year 2005, he/she was made Additional Judge in Delhi High Court. Subsequently, in 2006, he/she was appointed as a permanent judge. Now he/she will take oath as CJI next month.
