New Delhi. India has made 2 changes in its squad before the Champions Trophy. Star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the Champions Trophy due to the lower back injury. In his/her place, young fast bowler Harshit Rana has been included in the team while spinner Varun Chakraborty got a chance in place of young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal. The ICC had kept all the teams the last date for change in their squad on February 12, which is over. India gave updates on Bumrah’s fitness a few minutes after the deadline was over. Varun recently made his/her ODI debut against England. Yashasvi had to sacrifice to give him/her a place, who recently made her debut in the domestic ODI series against England.

On January 18, India included Yashasvi Jaiswal in which its 15 -member team selected for the Champions Trophy. But suddenly the Indian board excluded Yashasvi from the main squad and included mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy. Yashasvi and Varun are currently playing domestic ODI series against England. Jaiswal is removed from the main squad and kept in the reserve players. These players will not go to Dubai with the team, but if a cricketer is injured then any of them will take their place.

Yashasvi and Varun made their ODI debut against England. Yashasvi was taken off the innings with Rohit Sharma in the first ODI. Virat Kohli did not play with the problem of knee pain in the first match, but Jayaswal had to go out of the Indian team after Kohli’s return in the second ODI. Yashasvi has now lost his/her place with the Champions Trophy Squad.

Spin bowler Varun Chakraborty has returned to Team India after about 3 years. Earlier in IPL 2024, he/she wreaked havoc with his/her spin bowling. For some time, Vurun has been doing well in T20 cricket. Recently, Varun Chakraborty became the highest wicket bowler in the T20 series against England. he/she was also included in the ODI team and has also made his/her place in the Champions Trophy. The BCCI has not given the reason for being done outside Jaiswal.
