What should parents do when children ask if Santa Claus is real?

Christmas Day is just around the corner. Even though it is not an Indian festival, children eagerly wait for this day. Children have many questions in their minds regarding this festival, such as whether Santa Claus is real. Will he/she leave gifts for us in socks at night, will Santa fulfill our dreams. Obviously you would not have any answers to such questions. You don’t want to hurt your child by saying no. If your child also asks whether Santa is real, then you can prepare the answer in the way mentioned here.

Ask why they are asking

If the child asks if Santa is real, then first of all ask him/her why he/she is asking this. Knowing why can help you decide your response and use your discretion.

Your child’s reaction to this question will tell whether he/she is ready to hear the correct answer or not. If as a parent you feel that the correct answer is harmful for the child, then you can change the matter, but lying is not right.

Ask kids to be Santa

Children are afraid of not being heard. Instead of giving any answer, it is better that you ask him/her to become Santa himself. Ask if they would like to be Santa and give gifts to friends or siblings. This experience is quite fun for children. In such a situation, they forget whether Santa is real or not.

If the child asks you if Santa is real, guide him/her to the truth. Tell him/her that many years ago he/she was a human being just like us. But now everyone becomes Santa Claus to keep his/her memory alive. Which is a good thing.
