What objection did BJP have on Congress’s manifesto, why did it mention silent period?

New Delhi: BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra has accused the Congress of violating the Constitution and election rules and has demanded the Election Commission to take action against the Congress. Sambit Patra said that today is the 13th and voting is going on in Jharkhand. According to the Constitution, democracy is being celebrated in Jharkhand and this is the beauty of India.

‘Congress is a party that flouts the Constitution’

he/she further said that there is a national party in this country which keeps flouting the Constitution from time to time. There is a silent period of 48 hours before voting. According to election rules, no political party can campaign nor release its manifesto during these 48 hours. No big leader can hold a rally at that time. No one is unaware of this rule.

‘Congress violated the rules’

Patra further said that but he/she has to say with great sadness that despite knowing all the rules, the Congress Party, which is a national party, has violated the rules by releasing the election manifesto during the silent period itself. . he/she said that the first phase of voting is on 13th and there should be no campaigning for 48 hours from 11th i.e. before voting. Despite that, yesterday on 12th the Congress Party has released its manifesto. This in itself is very sad and is a play with the Constitution.

Targeted at Rahul Gandhi

he/she further said that Congress has not done this for the first time. The so-called veteran leader of Congress Party, Rahul Gandhi does not take the Election Commission seriously. he/she has always been against the Election Commission and the way Rahul Gandhi’s party has trashed the Election Commission yesterday, the state unit of BJP has complained about it to the Election Commission. Election Commission should take action against Congress.

‘Congress wants to snatch SC, ST and OBC reservation’

Referring to the proposal to give 4 percent reservation to Muslims in the public tender in the Congress-ruled state of Karnataka, the BJP spokesperson alleged that the Congress party wants to snatch the reservation of SC, ST and OBC in Jharkhand and give it to Muslims. Both Congress and JMM have played with the people of Jharkhand. This conspiracy of Congress to give reservation to Muslims will not succeed.

What did Patra say in the bulldozer case?

In response to a question about the Supreme Court’s decision in the bulldozer case, he/she said that as far as bulldozers, the Supreme Court and houses are concerned, BJP’s view is very clear that we all respect the decision of the Supreme Court. The decision that has come is not for one state but for the whole of India. There is rule of law, rule of the Constitution throughout India and whatever happens here happens according to the Constitution. There is a provision for whatever is not according to the Constitution.

Along with this, he/she also added that today if there is fear in the minds of criminals somewhere across India, then we feel that fear in the minds of criminals is a sign of a good country. There must be happiness in the minds of the public and fear in the minds of criminals and this must be done by following all the rules. We welcome this decision of the Supreme Court.
