Indian team’s star batsman Shubman Gill scored a century for Punjab in the Ranji Trophy, but could not avoid defeat by an innings and 207 runs against Karnataka. Gill hit 14 fours and 3 sixes in 159 balls.

New Delhi. Indian team’s star batsman Shubman Gill has faced a crushing defeat on his/her return in Ranji Trophy. While captaining Punjab against Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy Elite Group C match on Saturday, he/she scored a century but it was of no use. After flopping in the first innings, he/she scored a century in the second innings but still the team suffered a big defeat by an innings and 207 runs against Karnataka. Gill was seen single-handedly struggling to salvage the situation in the second innings but he/she did not get support at the other end.

Shubman Gill opened for Punjab in the second innings of the ongoing match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and completed his/her century in 159 balls with the help of 14 fours and 3 sixes. he/she is the only batsman from Punjab in this match who has scored runs against Karnataka. Karnataka had scored 475 runs in the first innings. Batting after losing the toss, Punjab scored 55 runs in the first innings while the second innings was limited to 213 runs.
