What is the ROI of studying in America, which type of studies gives the highest salary?

Study in America: There is always a question in the minds of Indian students going to America to study – what is the real cost of an American college degree? The answer to this question always troubles him/her, but now the answer has been found. ‘Foundation for Research on Equal Opportunity’ (FREOPP) has conducted a new study. In this study, it has been told how much benefit one gets by studying different courses. This answers the real value of an American degree.
To prepare this study, the ROI of 53,000 degree and certificate programs was looked at. In simple language, ROI (Return on Investment) means that the amount of money invested in studies is getting the same amount of income in return. Subjects like engineering, computer science, nursing and economics earn the highest. By studying in these fields, one can earn 5 lakh dollars (about Rs 4.5 crore) or more in a lifetime.

What is the benefit of doing Bachelor’s degree?

Studies have shown that there is little or no benefit after studying subjects like fine arts, education and psychology. The average ROI of a bachelor’s degree is $160,000, but this figure varies greatly between regions. Thus, if a student obtains a bachelor’s degree in subjects like engineering, computer science, nursing and economics, his/her earning opportunities will increase. But choosing the right domain becomes very important.

What is the ROI of Associate and Certificate Programs?

When it comes to associate degree and certificate programs, technical trade certificates, such as welding and IT, have a higher ROI than many bachelor’s degrees. Certifications like welding and IT can yield an ROI of more than $2 lakh. But there is little or no benefit to a two-year liberal arts program. Sometimes you may even have to suffer loss.

What is the ROI of Post Graduation Courses?

The ROI on post-graduation programs is mixed. A good amount of money can be earned by obtaining professional degrees like Law, Medicine and Dentistry. Lifetime earnings in these fields can exceed $1 million. But about half of master’s degrees have no ROI, especially in subjects like the arts or humanities. In these the fees are high, but the earning is less. MBA programs also often yield a low ROI, especially compared to professional degrees like law or medicine.
