What is the Donkey Route? Through which 130 Indians who reached Panama were deported, America was the reason

New Delhi: Panama on Friday deported 130 Indian migrants who had entered Panama illegally. This action was taken under an agreement with the US in July. Under this agreement, the US had promised to provide $6 million in aid to send back the migrants from Panama. The US hopes that this will reduce illegal infiltration on its southern border.

Sent to Delhi by special plane

Panamanian officials said that these Indian migrants were sent to New Delhi by a special aircraft. This was the first time that migrants from a country outside the US were sent back under this agreement with the US. The Darien jungle located between Colombia and Panama has become a major route for migrants going from South America to Central America and Mexico to the US. This jungle is extremely dangerous and is dominated by criminal gangs, but despite this, last year more than half a million migrants managed to cross this jungle and reach the US.

America is building pressure

Elections are due in the US this year and in such a situation, the US is putting pressure on countries like Panama and Mexico to take this issue of migration seriously. Under this agreement made in July, in the first phase, those migrants will be deported who have a criminal record. However, in the future, all those people can be deported who cross this dangerous river jungle and enter Panama. This agreement was made on the same day when Panama’s new President Jose Raul Mulino was sworn in. During his/her election campaign, he/she had promised that he/she would take strict action against the migrants coming by crossing the river jungle.

219 migrants sent in two weeks

With Friday’s action, Panama has deported 219 migrants in two weeks. Marlin Pinero, the US security officer on the issue of migration in Panama, said that the US is very grateful to the Panamanian government for this cooperation.

what is donkey root

The Donkey Route is an illegal and dangerous route used by people to illegally enter countries like the US, Europe, and Canada. The name of this route is derived from the Punjabi word “Dunky”, which means to jump from one place to another. In this process, people cross the borders of many countries, often without visas and tickets. This journey is long and risky, involving crossing forests, rivers, and seas. People using this route take the help of human traffickers, who help them cross the border illegally.
