What is the compulsion? Rohit Sharma was seen doing the same thing in the second ODI that he/she refused to do two days ago

New Delhi. Coach Gautam Gambhir’s influence on the Indian cricket team is clearly visible. That is why even captain Rohit Sharma is having to do the work that he/she does not want to do. Rohit Sharma was seen bowling in the second ODI against Sri Lanka. This is only the second time in 8 years that Rohit has bowled in an ODI match.

The second ODI match between India and Sri Lanka was played in Colombo on Sunday. Sri Lanka won the toss and batted first in this match. The host team scored 240 runs for 9 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Kamindu Mendis scored the highest 40 runs from their side. Washington Sundar took the highest 3 wickets from India’s side. Kuldeep Yadav also took 2 wickets.

The most special thing about this match was that Rohit Sharma bowled in it. he/she bowled 2 overs and conceded 11 runs. Not a single boundary was hit in his/her two overs. However, Rohit could not take a wicket either. This was only the second time in 8 years that Rohit Sharma was seen bowling in an ODI match. he/she had earlier bowled 5 balls against the Netherlands in the World Cup 2023 and also took a wicket. Before the World Cup 2023, he/she had bowled in 2016.

Rohit Sharma’s bowling is also important because before the first ODI match, he/she was clearly asked whether he/she would bowl. he/she was told that Suryakumar Yadav and Rinku Singh bowled in the last T20 match. Will he/she also bowl on the same lines? On this, Rohit Sharma said, ‘No. There are many players in my team who can bowl if needed. I will focus on batting.’

Cricket lovers know that ever since Gautam Gambhir became the coach of Team India, specialist batsmen are also being made to bowl. In the T20 series against Sri Lanka, Riyan Parag, Suryakumar Yadav and Rinku Singh bowled. Similarly, Shubman Gill was made to bowl in the first match of the ODI series.
