What is Interpol’s new silver notice? This will wreak such havoc on fugitives who flee abroad.

New Delhi: From this new year, more difficulties will begin to arise for fugitives who have committed crimes in India and fled abroad. Two important reasons have been given for this. In which CBI, the agency which works to bring the wanted people hidden abroad to India through Interpol, has already started preparations to bring more wanted people to India this year.

A new silver notice has been issued by Interpol on January 10. Through which it will become easier to trace and curb the property created abroad by criminals from the money earned from any kind of crime including human trafficking, drugs, cyber crime, economic crimes and corruption. Interpol has added a new silver colored notice to its already eight different colored notices from January 10. Which will play an important role in detecting the assets created by criminals abroad with the proceeds of crime.

Interpol has issued the first notice at the request of Italy. At present, the Silver Notice system has been started with 52 countries including India under a pilot project. Which will continue till November of this year. If successful, it will be started with all 195 countries. Police officials say that this silver notice will prove to be very effective in breaking the financial back of criminals. It will yield good results in future.

CBI is in action since last year

A CBI official said that CBI had issued 170 notices through Interpol in 2024. There were 100 red corner notices among these. Through them, success was achieved in deporting 30 fugitives hiding abroad to India. More work is being done in this matter this year. Under this, CBI has attached three of its senior officers with Interpol. In which two are at Interpol’s headquarters in France and one in Singapore. With this, India’s wanted will be hidden wherever it is in 195 countries of the world. The work of bringing him/her to India as soon as possible will be expedited.
