What is 10 digit fingerprint slip, which will now tremble criminals

New Delhi : It will now become more difficult to escape the crime of criminals in the country. Recently, according to the report of the National Crime and Records Bureau (NCRB), the National Automatic Fingerprint Identification System is guilty, arrested and 9,284,811, 10-unconnected fingerprint slips available till December 31, 2023. The entire horoscope of the culprit is registered in this slip. In such a situation, the police and other law enforcement agencies of the states will now be facilitated in catching the culprits. NAFIS was commissioned by the Union Home Ministry in August 2022.

Real time data will help help

The report states that it (NAFIS) enables the law enforcement agencies of the states and union territories to upload, trace and recover criminal fingerprint data at real time on a 24×7 basis using a server placed in NCRB. The Central Fingerprint Bureau (CFPB) has trained fingerprint experts from states and union territories to use the application.

Anfis at 1377 places

Subsequently, a large number of latent fingerprints obtained from SFPB during previous years have been processed through NAFIS on behalf of CFPB and SFPB and fingerprint experts from Union Territories. According to the report, NAFIS has been commissioned at 1,377 locations. This includes all districts, Police Commissionerates, State Fingerprint Bureau and Central Law Enforcement Agencies like NIA, CBI, NCB and IB.

Madhya Pradesh recorded the most fingerprint

During 2023, states/union territories maintained a 10-fingerprint database of 1,512,608 convicted and arrested persons. In this, Madhya Pradesh registered the most fingerprint slip in 2023 for serious injuries, murder, attempt to murder, rape and punishment of criminals for attacks.

The most conviction in Punjab, Maharashtra, Haryana

A large number of conviction cases have been registered in Punjab, Maharashtra and Haryana. The report said that the highest number of arrests were registered in states like Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. Many other states like Haryana, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Karnataka, Odisha and Telangana recorded a significant increase in fingerprint arrests in proportion to their population and number of incidents of crime.
