In an interview, Pant had said that when he/she was in fifth class, he/she had decided that he/she would become a cricketer. his/her father had gifted him/her a bat worth Rs 14 thousand, on which his/her mother was very angry. Pant’s father’s income was not much and he/she belonged to a common family. In such a situation, he/she has made a lot of hard work and sacrifices to make his/her son a cricketer.

When the family came to know about Rishabh’s talent, they fully supported him/her. When Rishabh was just 12 years old, there was a talent hunt program in Delhi. In this, Rishabh had come to Delhi from Roorkee with his/her mother. he/she got selected in this but he/she had to come to Delhi every Saturday for training. In such a situation, due to financial constraints, both mother and son used to live in the Gurudwara of Moti Bagh.

After this, Rishabh lived in a gaming parlor with his/her mother while his/her mother used to serve in the Gurudwara. This time was very difficult not only for Rishabh but also for his/her mother. At this time he/she was suffering both mentally and physically. However, his/her father did not live to see Rishabh’s success.
