In such a situation, there is a plan to convert it into a petrochemical complex.

Officer gave information

The official said that we want to set up a petrochemical complex near the Haldia refinery, which currently has a capacity of 8.5 million tonnes per annum. IOC has sought land from Haldia Fertilizer Corporation (HFC), whose factory is lying closed, to develop a petrochemical complex. We have sought 175 acres of land from HFC. It is adjacent to the refinery and is leased by the Haldia Dock Complex (HDC) to the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. We are seeking land for a petrochemical project.
