West Indies ended its 10 year wait, Bangladesh bowed down

Basseterre. The West Indies team had registered its first win against Bangladesh in the last match after losing 11 ODIs. Now by winning the second consecutive match, the team ended the 10 year long wait against Bangladesh. West Indies won the second ODI on the basis of fast bowler Jaden Seales’ four wickets and opener Brandon King’s fifty. Defeated the target of 228 runs by seven wickets with 79 balls remaining and took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

West Indies first bowled out Bangladesh for 227 runs in 46 overs and then registered an easy victory by scoring 230 runs for three wickets in 36.5 overs. This is the first time in the last 10 years that West Indies has won an ODI series from Bangladesh. It had won the first match played on the same ground on Sunday by five wickets. The third and final ODI will be played on this ground on Thursday.

Bangladesh lost wickets at regular intervals after being invited to bat first. At one time his/her score was 115 runs for seven wickets. Mahmudullah (62) and Tanzeem Hasan Saqib (45) made a partnership of 92 runs from here and took the team to a respectable score. Opener Tanjid Hasan contributed 46 runs. For West Indies, Seales took four wickets for 22 runs.

For West Indies, reaching the target was just a formality. Brandon King and Evin Lewis gave a good start to West Indies by making a partnership of 109 runs in 21 overs for the first wicket. King scored 82 runs while Lewis (49) and Casey Carty (45) missed half-centuries.
