On the other hand, complex carbohydrates contain polysaccharides, such as amylose, cellulose, dextrin and rutinulose. They take more time to digest and increase blood sugar levels slowly rather than rapidly. This is why they are considered extremely good for weight loss.

Low carb diet is effective for weight loss, but it should not be followed for a long time. It can have side effects.
