Web Series Review: Mirzapur 3’s excitement is slow and faded, but the climax is very strong

The Bhaukaal of the much-awaited and popular web series ‘Mirzapur’ which the audience was eagerly waiting for is now in front of them. Director Gurmeet Singh has beautifully taken the story and characters forward with the great actors of the last two seasons, but the shock value or Bhaukaal that the audience was expecting does not emerge in the series in a strong manner. The acting of the actors is the plus point of the series, but if its pace had been as fast as the first season, then it would have been like icing on the cake.

Story of ‘Mirzapur 3’

The story begins from the end of the last season. As the audience knows, this is a story of power, deceit, fraud and power of the strongmen. Guddu Pandit (Ali Fazal) has become the self-proclaimed strongman of Mirzapur by killing Munna Tripathi (Divyendu Sharma) and removing Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi) from his/her path. But he/she is unaware that Sharad Shukla (Anjum Sharma) has saved the injured Kaleen Bhaiya and is secretly getting him/her treated. Sharad Shukla is the thorn in Guddu’s path in the way of occupying the throne of Mirzapur. Similarly, some strongmen from the west refuse to accept Guddu as their king. Lady don Golu (Shweta Tripathi), who has become more dangerous than before, becomes Guddu’s right hand and protects him/her from every trick of the enemies at every step. To remove Guddu from the path, Sharad conspires with the Chief Minister of the state and Munna’s wife Madhuri Yadav (Isha Talwar). With the campaign for a fear-free state, Madhuri plans to take her revenge by pitting strongmen against strongmen.

Will Kaleen Bhaiya’s dominance continue?

On the other hand, Beena (Rasika Duggal) has not forgotten her old wounds. She is busy taking care of her newborn child, whose father is her father-in-law (Kulbhushan Kharbanda). Here, Guddu’s father Ramakant Pandit (Rajesh Tailang) surrenders for the crime of killing SSP Maurya (Amit Sial). his/her wife Vasudha (Sheeba Chaddha) refuses to live with Guddu. There in Siwan, Bharat Tyagi (Vijay Verma) has secretly stolen the identity of his/her twin brother Chhote aka Shatrughan Tyagi (Vijay Verma). While everyone believes that Chhote is dead. Dadda (Lilliput) has accepted the death of his/her son Chhote. But the biggest question is whether Kaleen Bhaiya, who has returned from the jaws of death, will be able to establish his/her power once again? Will Guddu be able to eliminate his/her enemies and become the king of Mirzapur? To see the answers to many such questions, you will have to watch the series.

Review of ‘Mirzapur 3’:

The biggest feature of Mirzapur season 3 is the rise of underdogs Guddu and Sharad, which brings a newness to the series, but its pace is slower than the previous season. In a series like Mirzapur, the audience expects a fast-paced pace. Although writers Apoorva Dhar, Avinash Singh, Avinash Tomar and Vijay Narayan have kept many turns and twists in the story, but in between they lose their grip. Ten episodes of the series seem long. Despite this, the hidden agenda of every character maintains curiosity. Kaleen Bhaiya has been given very little screen space, which will definitely be missed by his/her fans, while the absence of Munna is also remembered. Yes, the sequences like the spine-chilling action scenes, court room drama, Guddu’s dominance in Nepal, attack in Siwan, clash between Guddu and Sharad have become interesting. The ten minutes of the climax are enough to surprise the audience. Sanjay Kapoor and Kunal Qureshi’s cinematography blossoms in the action scenes. Anand Bhaskar’s music is average, but John Stewart Eduri’s background score keeps the film engaging.

How is the acting of the actors in ‘Mirzapur 3’?

In terms of acting, the series has many gems. This time Guddu Pandit’s charisma is fully visible. he/she has executed his/her arrogant, unpredictable and dangerous style in a special style. he/she makes this raw character memorable on screen, while Anjum Sharma has done restrained acting as Sharad Shukla. Shweta Tripathi dominates as the lady don Golu who plays mind games. Pankaj Tripathi leaves a deep impression in the character of Kaleen Bhaiya even in limited screen space. Rasika plays the character of Beena with the same intensity. Isha Talwar has played the character of CM Madhuri smartly. Vijay Verma has been wasted. Sheeba Chaddha in the role of Guddu’s mother, Rajesh Tailang in the role of father, Priyanshu Painyuli in the role of Robin, Anil George in the character of Rauf Lala, Lilliput in the role of Dadda have done justice to their characters.

Why watch: With new turns and twists, it can be watched for the performances of Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi and Anjum Sharma and a shocking climax.
