[ad_1] OTT, which once raised hopes of offbeat, excellent content, has now also fallen prey to herd mentality. There is a race to bring as much content as possible on every platform. If you don't think of a story on it, then pick up a foreign show and serve it somehow in a desi style. The new name in the list of such shows is '36 Days'. Directed by Vishal Furia, who made dark thrillers with a strong message like 'Chhori', this series is an adaptation of the British show '35 Divernod'. While the original show was a huge hit, its desi version is quite dull and boring.Story of '36 Days'Set in the backdrop of Goa, this story begins with the murder of a beautiful air hostess and moves on to 36 days ago, when this girl Farah Zaidi (Neha Sharma) came to live in a posh villa in Goa. Here Farah meets some neighbors. Among them is the loose character manager Tony (Chandan Roy Sanyal) who keeps an eye on other women despite having a beautiful young wife Sia Khushi Bhardwaj at home. he/she keeps on teasing Sia's friend Tarun aka Tara (Sushant Divgikar) who is undergoing the process of sex change surgery. One neighbour is the newly-rich show-off Lalita Amrita Khanvilkar and her snobbish husband Vinod (Sharib Hashmi). In a nearby villa live an elderly couple Denji (Kenny Desai) and Binaifer aka Binny (Shernaz Patel). Binny, who finds a cure for her loneliness in baking, is dealing with the grief of her son Riyad's divorce and the loss of her daughter. Another family is that of a famous writer Dr. Rishi (Purab Kohli) and his/her wife Radhika (Shruti Seth). This couple, who appear perfect to the world, is also facing ups and downs in their married life. How do all these lives change after Farah comes to the neighbourhood? Who is her killer? Why is she murdered? All these secrets are revealed in this journey of 36 days, but this adaptation by Anahata Menon is very simple and makeshift.Trailer of '36 Days'[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2RxqoJP6jQ[/embed]'36 Days' web series reviewAll the characters in this eight-episode series have their own dark secrets, but these characters are so boring and their lives are so monotonous that there is no curiosity to know about them. On top of that, the screenplay is so dull that one feels like watching it in fast forward. There is no edge in the direction either. There is no thrill in the first two-three episodes. There is a lot of repetition in the scenes as well. Some interest in the story is aroused from the fourth episode, but no revelation surprises.Talking about acting, Chandan Roy Sanyal looks good in a negative role here too. Amrita, Sushant and Shernaz have done justice to their roles, while Purab, Shruti Seth, Sharib Hashmi are fine. However, their characters have not got much expansion. Whereas, despite being the main attraction, Neha did not have much to do except looking glamorous.Apart from this, technical aspects like cinematography, setting, background score etc. contribute in making the atmosphere mysterious but due to weak story, they are unable to create any thrill. Why watch- If you feel like watching a crime thriller in fast forward in your free time, then watch it.
