Weather Update: Along with the day, the night also remained hot, the heat in October broke the record of 73 years in Delhi, know when will the cold come.

New Delhi: Diwali has passed and November has also started but the heat is still breaking records. Except for some hilly areas, heat continues to wreak havoc across the country. The situation is such that people of Delhi-NCR are not able to spend their nights without AC fans. There was a time when by the time November came, we started feeling cold in the morning and evening, but this year the heat is not going away and the cold is not coming.

Record of 73 years broken in Delhi

The Meteorological Department said that this year there has been record breaking heat. The month of October was the hottest across the country. In Delhi, the heat in October broke the record of the last 73 years. According to Safdarjung Meteorological Center of Delhi, this year October has been the hottest month since 1951. In October this year, the maximum temperature of the capital was recorded at 35.1 degrees Celsius. Earlier in the year 1951, the highest temperature was recorded at 36.2 degrees Celsius.

Why was October hot?

Till a few years ago, cold used to set in by the end of October, but this year, forget October, even November has started but the cold is still ‘missing’. Climate scientists are also very worried about this change in weather. he/she believes that all this is related to global warming. In such a situation, the climate scientist said that the biggest reason for the warming of October this time is the absence of western disturbance. Due to which there was strong sunlight in October and such a huge difference was seen in the maximum temperature. According to the Meteorological Department, cold may hit Delhi NCR after November 10.

Pollution is also troubling Delhi

These days, Delhiites are facing the brunt of both heat and pollution. Many people are having trouble breathing due to pollution. Some people also complain of burning sensation in the eyes. Let us tell you that firecrackers were banned in Delhi on Diwali but still there were a lot of fireworks in the capital. Due to which a blanket of fog was seen in many areas of Delhi this morning.

When will the cold come?

India Meteorological Department (IMD) Director General Mrityunjay Mohapatra said that the temperature in the north-western plains will remain 2-5 degrees above normal for at least the next two weeks, after which it will gradually decline. Mohapatra said the weather office does not count November as a winter month. he/she said that January and February are considered winter months, while December shows signs of cold.

Chance of rain in these states in November

In the southern peninsula, the weather department expects above normal rainfall over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, Kerala and Mahe and south interior Karnataka in November due to the north-east monsoon. The weather office said that except some areas of northwest India and central India, most parts of the country are expected to receive above normal rainfall.
