IMD Heatwave Forecast: The Meteorological Department has released the forecast from April to June. According to IMD, there will be an increase in temperature in the next three months. At the same time, except for some areas of northwest and peninsular region, most of India is likely to see above normal temperature. Besides this, the IMD has predicted heatwave conditions over most parts of central, east and northwest India. Director General of the Meteorological Department Mrityunjay Mohapatra said in a press conference, ‘Heatwave will start in Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Punjab and Haryana.’

During April to June, the maximum temperature is likely to be above normal over many parts of the country. In addition, some parts of South Peninsular India and Northwest India would see below normal maximum temperatures. The Meteorological Department has predicted the onset of heatwave in parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal.
April Month Rain Prediction
IMD has predicted normal rainfall in the month of April. Above normal rains may occur over most parts of northwest, central and peninsular region. Whereas, less than normal rains are possible over East and Northeast India.

According to Skymet Weather, a Western Disturbance is over Central Pakistan and some areas of Jammu and Kashmir. The cyclonic circulation is over northwest Rajasthan. Whereas, a cyclonic circulation is over the central parts of UP. The trough is extending from Central Uttar Pradesh to East Madhya Pradesh and Telangana via Vidarbha. In addition, a cyclonic circulation has formed over South Assam.

According to Skymet Weather, light to moderate rains may occur over Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal and Nagaland during the next 24 hours. There is a possibility of light to moderate snowfall in Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal and Uttarakhand. Light to moderate rains are possible over parts of Bengal, Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, North Punjab and North Haryana. Whereas, light rains may occur over Telangana, Tamil Nadu, South Interior Karnataka, Kerala, parts of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Apart from this, the temperature may increase in the northwest and central parts.
