Weather News: Every fourth person in the world has faced deadly heat, climate change is the reason

New Delhi: Climate Central has reported in its new report that in June, July and August this year, every fourth person in the world faced extreme heat due to climate change. During June to August, more than 200 crore people faced extreme heat for 30 days, which affected their health. During this period, 72 countries experienced the most severe heat since 1970, and this heat was entirely due to climate change. 180 countries in the Northern Hemisphere faced severe heat at least once during June to August, which was made 21 times more deadly by carbon pollution. According to Andrew Pershing, Vice President of Climate Central, climate change has played an important role in increasing the temperature. No region, country or city is safe from this danger. he/she said that August 13 was the hottest day in history so far.India is more affected by heat than other Southern Asian countries
The June to August season was the second hottest season since 1970. In these three months, 29 days recorded such temperatures which were three times higher than the normal due to climate change. During this period 2 crore 5 lakh people faced extreme heat for at least 60 days. India has become such a country among the Southern Asian countries, where most people were affected by heat due to climate change. Out of the total population of 138 crore in the country, 42 crore 60 lakh people were at risk of extreme heat for seven days, which is one third of the total population.

Cities have become furnaces due to rising temperatures

During this period, 11.2 crore people faced heat which was dangerous for health for about a month. In some cities, the effect of heat was extremely bad. In cities like Thiruvananthapuram, Vasai-Virar, Kavaratti, Thane, Mumbai and Port Blair, the temperature was three times higher due to climate change for 70 or more days. Mumbai experienced extreme heat for 54 days, while Kanpur and Delhi experienced a long period when the temperature went above 39 degrees. This temperature was four times higher due to climate change.
