We will never accept this ‘fake’ report … Kharge in Rajya Sabha on the removal of decent note from JPC report on Waqf Bill

New Delhi : As soon as the proceedings of Parliament started on the JPC report on the Waqf Amendment Bill, the opposition started creating a ruckus. The proceedings of the Lok Sabha were postponed till 2 pm, but the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha continue after a brief adjournment. When the JPC report was introduced in the Upper House, the opposition created a lot of uproar over not making the decent note a part of it. Leader of the opposition Mallikarjun Kharge has bluntly stated that he/she would not accept this fake report. he/she requested Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar to dismiss the report and demanded the re -introduction of the report with a decent note. Members of the opposition started shouting slogans as soon as the JPC report was presented on the Waqf Amendment Bill in the Rajya Sabha. The Chairman tried to convince the members who were creating a ruckus repeatedly, but even then the commotion did not stop, the proceedings of the House were postponed for 11:20 pm. When the proceedings of the House started again, there was an uproar. During this time the Chairman allowed the House leader JP Nadda to speak. Nadda condemned the opposition’s attitude as irresponsible.

Nadda said, ‘We should take care of traditions and under the constitutional provision, the proceedings of the House should be carried out in a democratic manner. I am sad that there is a ruckus even after repeated requests from the Chairman. The attitude of the opposition is very irresponsible, as much as being condemned.

The Chairman then called for the name of Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge to speak. During this, there was a ruckus of opposition members. Then Chairman Dhankar took the name of three members of the opposition and said that he/she created a chaos in the House and created a ruckus. Kharge continued to protest on this and kept speaking. On this, Chairman Dhankar said in a light way from Kharge that you should not get angry, if you get angry, I will have trouble.

Kharge made a strong objection to the removal of the decent note of opposition members from the JPC report on the Waqf Bill and the opinion of non-station holders. he/she said, ‘We have only one subject which is the report of JPC of Waqf Board, in the report in which many members have given their decent note. Despite giving that note, it is not right to remove from processing and just keep the views of the magority members. This is condemnable. Are undemocratic and against processes. ‘

Kharge further said, ‘Non-stakeholders are called from outside and taking them to stand up and taking their statement and so many people who have given the decent notes of the opposition, have none of them have been educated … It feels very surprised that if you have to do something, you should speak by printing the decent note or putting it in your report. Instead, if there is a report by deleting it, then I condemn him/her. We will never accept such fake reports.

The Leader of the Opposition demanded the re -introduction of the JPC report with a decent note. he/she said, ‘When the procedure was not followed, it cannot be a part of this house. Therefore, it is requested that whatever is reported and there is no decent note in it, then send it back … Putting the decent note and then presenting it again … This is not a question of any person. The MPs who are angry are angry for the whole society, not for themselves, they are angry at the injustice being done.

Kharge demanded the Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar to return the JPC report and get it re -introduced it with a decent note. he/she said, ‘You can refuse the JPC report. Don’t know how many governors have done this. You put the decent note in the report and by then send it back. ‘
