We are not responsible for your internal affairs … India’s proud, Bangladeshi High Commissioner for Hasina’s statement

New Delhi: India summoned the Acting High Commissioner of Bangladesh on Friday. A day earlier, Dhaka demanded that New Delhi be prevented from making a statement to former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that Bangladesh acting High Commissioner Mohammad Nurul Islam was summoned at 5 pm. The Ministry of External Affairs said that it was reported that India wants positive, creative and mutually beneficial relations with Bangladesh, which has been repeated several times in recent high -level meetings.

Keep in keeping negative image of India

India said that despite this it is regrettable that India is depicted negatively in regular statements made by Bangladesh officials. In this, we are held responsible for internal governance issues. These statements of Bangladesh are actually responsible for continuous negativity.
The statement of the Ministry of External Affairs further stated that the comments made about former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have been made in his/her personal status. India has no role in this. Linking it with the attitude of the Government of India will not bring positivity in bilateral relations.

Do not spoil the atmosphere Bangladesh

The Ministry of External Affairs says while the Government of India will try to make a mutually beneficial relationship, we hope that Bangladesh will also make a similar effort without spoiling the atmosphere. According to a report by Reuters, Bangladesh’s Foreign Ministry handed over a protest letter to the Acting High Commissioner of India in Dhaka, expressing ‘deep concern, disappointment and serious objections’ over Sheikh Hasina’s comments.
