New Delhi: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday alleged that members of opposition parties were not being allowed to speak in the Rajya Sabha and were being threatened. Leader of Opposition Kharge said this at a press conference with leaders of constituents of the opposition alliance Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) after Rajya Sabha proceedings were adjourned for the day. He also said that there have been many discussions in the House in the past under Rule 267. BRS leader Keshav Rao was also present in this press conference.
Kharge told reporters that the government is not allowing us to speak in the Rajya Sabha. Under Rule 267, we have been raising the issue of Manipur for 11 consecutive days. Manipur is a huge phenomenon. We wanted the Prime Minister to come to the House and present his views. It is not just a question of the Home Minister. All the information which is available to the Prime Minister cannot be available to the Home Minister.
Uproar in Rajya Sabha over Manipur, why did Chairman Dhankhar teary eyes? know the whole matter
He claimed the Prime Minister is not coming here, he is busy campaigning. He goes to Rajasthan, Maharashtra, but does not come to the Parliament. The Congress President said that the Prime Minister should come to the House, keep his point. We will also reply. He is making an election speech, but not making a brief statement on Manipur in the House.
Leader of Opposition alleged that we are being threatened. We are being told that if we get up again and again, we will get severe punishment. This is being called the government through the mouth of the Chairman. He said, Rajni Patil was suspended for one session and now her suspension has not been revoked in this session also. If this is not dictatorship then what is. This is Hitlershahi.
