What is a Canadian LMIA?

LMIA is a type of document that the Canadian government asks for before issuing work permits for certain companies. This document is issued by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC). In this, it is seen what effect hiring a foreign worker will have on the employment market of Canada. On the basis of LMIA, a work permit is issued for a company only if the result of the document is “positive” or “neutral”.
