It is not just an issue of ‘child intelligence’ but the people who cheer it are equally responsible! Child intelligence may be good for entertainment but in your divisive moves, do not make fun of our backward communities.

‘The government does not select Miss India candidates’

The Union minister also said that governments do not select candidates for Miss India, nor athletes for the Olympics or actors for films. PM Modi has made it clear that the Supreme Court will not be allowed to change reservation in IAS, IPS, IFS and all other top services.

What did Rahul Gandhi allege

Rahul Gandhi on Saturday reiterated his/her demand for a caste census, claiming that there have been no women from Dalit, Adivasi or OBC communities in the list of Miss India winners. he/she also claimed that even top anchors in the media are not from these communities.

This was said regarding the participation of OBC

During a ‘Samvidhan Samman Sammelan’ in UP, Rahul Gandhi had said, “I have checked the list of Miss India, in which there was no Dalit, Adivasi or OBC woman. Some will talk about cricket or Bollywood. No one will show a cobbler or a plumber. Even in the media, the top anchors are not among the 90 per cent… We want to know how many are among the 90 per cent in institutions, corporates, Bollywood, Miss India. I am only saying that there was no ‘participation’ of the 90 per cent and this should be investigated.”

Targeting Prime Minister Modi and the central government, the Congress leader questioned, ‘They will say that Modi ji hugged someone and we became a superpower. How did we become a superpower when 90 percent of the people have no participation?’ Rahul Gandhi stressed on a nationwide caste census, saying that it is not for “any political reason” but to “include 90 percent of India’s poor in the mainstream”.
