Voting on the resolution related to Palestine in the United Nations General Assembly, India did not participate

New Delhi : Voting was held on the resolution related to Palestine in the United Nations General Assembly. However, India did not participate in it. India did not participate in the voting on the resolution in the UNGA which demanded that Israel remove its illegal presence in the occupied Palestinian territory within 12 months without any delay. The 193-member General Assembly accepted the resolution. 124 countries voted in favor of the resolution. In this, 14 voted against and 43 countries including India did not participate in it.

Those who abstained from voting include Australia, Canada, Germany, Italy, Nepal, Ukraine and Britain. Israel and the United States were among the countries that voted against the resolution. The resolution passed on Wednesday demanded that Israel remove its illegal presence in the occupied Palestinian territory without delay and within 12 months of the adoption of the current resolution.

The resolution prepared by Palestine also strongly condemned the Israeli government’s disregard for its obligations under the UN Charter, international law and relevant UN resolutions. It stressed that such violations pose a serious threat to regional and international peace and security. It said that Israel should be held accountable for any violations of international law in the occupied Palestinian territory.

Gaza releases identities of 34,344 people killed in Israeli attacks

On the other hand, Gaza’s Health Ministry has released the identities of 34,344 Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks. Officials said that the ministry has published a list of names, ages and identification numbers, which includes the names of more than 80 percent of Palestinians killed in the war so far. Apart from the names included in the list, the death toll has now exceeded 41 thousand, including the remaining 7,613 people killed in the conflict with Israel. Their bodies have been kept in hospitals and morgues, but have not been identified yet.
