Virender Sehwag does not want to become the coach of the Indian team, told the reason

New Delhi. Former explosive opener of Indian cricket team Virender Sehwag is known for his/her outspoken statements. This veteran has once again made headlines with his/her statement. he/she has clearly said that he/she does not want to become the coach of the Indian team at this time. If any team of Indian Premier League makes an offer, then I will definitely think about it. Sehwag told why he/she is not interested in becoming the coach of Team India.

While talking to Amar Ujala, Virender Sehwag said, if I get an offer to coach any IPL team, if not the Indian team, I will definitely look into it. If I become the coach of the Indian team, then I will again have the same old routine which I had while playing cricket for 15 years. I have to stay out of home for 8 months of the year. Right now my children are young. They are 14 and 16 years old and they need me. Both of them play cricket. One is an off-spinner and the other is an opening batsman. I have to teach them cricket and make them play further.

Virender Sehwag had applied for the coach of the Indian team but then Ravi Shastri was selected for this post. After this, he/she did not show interest in this post again. Sehwag has also worked as a coach in the Indian Premier League. he/she was made a mentor by Punjab Kings but the team’s performance was not very good. There were also reports of his/her argument with the team’s co-owner Bollywood actress Preity Zinta. However, no one confirmed this. Sehwag resigned after the poor performance of the Punjab team. he/she has not been associated with any team since 2018.

Sehwag said, right now I want to spend as much time as possible with my children. If I look at the coach of the Indian team, he/she stays out for 8 months. I will not be able to be with him/her during that time. If I get an offer to coach or mentor an IPL team, I will definitely think about it.
