‘Virat will play for 3-4 more years, but Rohit now…’ Shastri spoke his/her mind after the shameful defeat

New Delhi. Former Indian coach Ravi Shastri believes that Virat Kohli still has 3-4 years of cricket left in him/her but considering his/her long-standing struggle with form and technique in this format, captain Rohit Sharma should be considered for the ongoing series against Australia. Later there may be a need to assess your future. India’s senior batsmen Rohit and Kohli are facing criticism due to their poor performance during the ongoing five-Test series against Australia.

Shastri told Star Sports, “I think Virat will play for some time. Forget the way he/she is getting out, or other things, whatever. I think he/she will play for the next three or four years. As far as Rohit is concerned, he/she will have to take a decision. I think his/her footwork is not the same as before. he/she probably delays playing the shot many times. They will have to decide at the end of the series.”

IND vs AUS: After the defeat, captain Rohit Sharma admitted his/her mistake, said- the way to win the match…

Rohit has scored only 31 runs in five innings at an average of 6.20 and during this he/she scored 3, 6, 10, 3 and 9 runs which is the lowest average of any foreign captain on Australian soil. Despite the century in the Perth Test, Kohli’s performance lacks consistency and so far he/she has played innings of 5, 100 not out, 7, 11, 3, 36 and 5 runs in the series.

Former all-rounder Irfan Pathan believes that if Rohit had not been the captain of India, based on his/her current form he/she would not have got a place in the playing field. Pathan said, “A player who has scored almost 20,000 runs. Yet the way Rohit is struggling now, it seems that his/her form is not supporting him/her at all. What is happening now is that he/she is the captain, so he/she is playing. If he/she had not been the captain, perhaps he/she would not have been playing right now.
