New Delhi. The departure of defending champion Chennai Super Kings from the Indian Premier League was a surprise for the fans. The way Royal Challengers Bangalore secured the playoff ticket by defeating the team in the last league match was nothing less than a miracle. The team did this feat by winning 6 consecutive matches. After the defeat, former Chennai captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni became very disappointed and after the end of the match, he went to the dressing room alone. It is reported that Virat Kohli met him there and both of them had an important conversation.

Former Chennai Super Kings team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni had handed over the command of the team to Rituraj Gaikwad even before the start of the season. After playing 14 league matches, the team was able to reach 14 points by winning 7. On the basis of net run rate, RCB won the battle of playoffs. In a do or die match, Bangalore team had set a target of 219 runs, in response to which Chennai team could reach only 191 runs.

After the match was over, Mahendra Singh Dhoni went straight from the field towards the dressing room. He did not shake hands with the players of the opposing team. It is reported that after winning the match, Virat Kohli went to the dressing room and met Dhoni. The conversation that took place between the two during this period is also coming to light. According to media reports, Dhoni congratulated Virat for reaching the playoffs. He said, good luck on reaching the playoffs, good luck for the upcoming matches, you have to go to the final and win it.
