New Delhi. The fourth match of the 5-match Border Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia seems to be mired in controversy. Former Indian captain Virat Kohli clashed with Australian debutant Sam Costas on the first day of the Boxing Day Test match. Now controversy is arising regarding this. Even former Australian cricket team captain Ricky Ponting has talked about this and criticized Kohli for deliberately pushing him/her. If the match referee takes action on this incident, Kohli may get severe punishment.

Australia made a good start after winning the toss and opting to bat first in the Melbourne Test. Debutant Sam Costans batted explosively and hit a stormy fifty. When this 19 year old young man was hitting fours to a stalwart like Jasbrit Bumrah, Virat Kohli tried Australia’s method of sledging to provoke him/her.
