Virat Kohli and RCB’s tension is over, Anuj hit a stormy century, ready to replace DK

This storm may have broken the hopes of Old Delhi 6 and its fans, but Virat Kohli and RCB must have been overjoyed. Reason – the person whose bat brought this storm plays for RCB in IPL. his/her name is Anuj Rawat. Wicketkeeper batsman Anuj played an unbeaten innings of 121 runs in DPL T20. he/she drew the attention of cricket fans by making a partnership of 241 runs with fellow opener Sujal Singh (108). Anuj Rawat hit 11 sixes and 6 fours in his/her 61-ball innings. Sujal Singh hit 9 sixes and 7 fours in his/her 57-ball innings.

24-year-old Anuj Rawat plays for East Delhi Riders in the DPL. East Delhi defeated Old Delhi by 26 runs thanks to the centuries of its openers Anuj Rawat and Sujal Singh. East Delhi scored a record 241 runs in its innings of 20 overs without losing any wicket. In response, Old Delhi could only score 215 runs for 8 wickets. Vansh Bedi scored 96 runs in 41 balls for Old Delhi.

Anuj Rawat may get the benefit of his/her century in IPL. After the retirement of Dinesh Karthik (DK) in his/her IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore, the wicketkeeper’s position has become vacant. Teams have to release the retained list of players for IPL 2025. Anuj Rawat has strengthened his/her claim for retention even before this list is made.

On News18 Hindi’s question about scoring a century and being retained in RCB, Anuj Rawat said, ‘Scoring a century is always a good experience and it increases confidence. As players, it is our job to play well. Hopefully everyone (RCB management) will be watching.’

Let us tell you that Anuj Rawat has been a part of the RCB team for the last two seasons. But his/her role in the team has been that of the second wicketkeeper. Dinesh Karthik has been the first choice of the team. But after DK’s retirement, Anuj Rawat has staked his/her claim as the first wicketkeeper batsman of RCB. The special thing about Anuj is that he/she can play in the top order as well as in the middle order. For this reason also RCB can retain Anuj.
