Vikramaditya did not follow Yogi’s path just like that, inside story of Congress’s dilemma

New Delhi : In a meeting chaired by Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh in Himachal Pradesh on January 25, owners of fast food, street vendors and dhabas were instructed to put up identity cards outside their shops. Vikramaditya Singh said that recently in Uttar Pradesh also, street vendors were ordered to have ID. Now we have decided to implement it strongly here also. For this, a Street Wedding Committee has been formed, so that if any such case comes to light in the coming days, action can be taken on it with transparency.

The government distanced itself from the statement

The special thing is that after some time, opposition started appearing in the government on this issue. Some Congress leaders openly protested. Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee President Ajay Rai said that due to this, common traders, street vendors and dhaba vendors will be harassed, this law should be withdrawn. The state government in Himachal Pradesh distanced itself from Singh’s statement and said no such decision had been taken.

BJP did not delay in taking this issue into its own hands. Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur claimed that he/she opposed the move because it was the ‘model’ of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Jairam Thakur said that the state government has succumbed to the pressure of the Congress high command.

The government has not taken any decision to display the names of the shopkeepers, but this came to light on the basis of the recommendation of a committee of the Assembly, the purpose of which is to bring the shops and street vendors under the rules. Unlike Uttar Pradesh, shopkeepers in Himachal Pradesh are not required to display name or photo.

Vikramaditya got mother’s support

This statement of Minister Vikramaditya Singh has been supported by Himachal Pradesh Congress President Pratibha Singh. Pratibha Singh agreed with Vikramaditya Singh’s statement. he/she said that the government has decided that the people setting up food shops should be identified as to who they are and where they come from. Apart from this, the government has taken this decision to ensure that the purity of the goods they are selling is maintained.

Is Vikramaditya on the path of soft Hindutva?

Many questions are being raised regarding this decision of Vikramaditya Singh. Vikramaditya Singh had taken a rebellious stand against the party some time ago. There were also reports of him/her leaving the party. However, the Congress high command managed this dissatisfaction somehow. Now the way Vikramaditya took the decision, the question is arising whether Vikramaditya is following the path of soft Hindutva in Himachal? Vikramaditya Singh has liked the model of Yogi government.

Political analysts believe that Vikramaditya feels that if the party wants to gain strength in the state, it will have to ensure Hindu votes in its favor. The way the people of Dev Bhoomi Himachal are protesting on the streets regarding the change in demography there, Vikramaditya sees a political future for himself in this. While the youth minister believes the party needs to be seen as Hindu enough to attract the vote bank in Himachal, angry top leaders believe the move not only makes it too similar to the BJP but also weakens its attacks on the Yogi government. Also reduces intensity.

Desire for Hindu vote bank!

Himachal Pradesh has 96 percent Hindu population. In such a situation, it has become a political compulsion for many party leaders including Vikramaditya Singh to play the religion card or support decisions that appeal to this vote bank. This is why even though top Congress leaders did not participate in the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha, Himachal Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu announced that state government buildings would be decorated and lamps would be lit on the occasion. Singh, in fact, had gone to Ayodhya to attend the event.

Different stance on the issue of mosque too

The issue of allegedly illegal Sanjauli Mosque was first raised in Himachal’s capital Shimla. After this it gradually spread to other parts of the state. In the Sanjauli Masjid case, the Congress government minister had termed it illegal and even mentioned infiltrators. Congress leader Anirudh Singh had said regarding Sanjauli Mosque that the construction of the mosque was started without approval, it was an illegal structure.

After this, the dispute regarding mosque and namaz in Kusumpati deepened. There was also an uproar over a decades-old mosque in Mandi district. Similar cases were seen in Rampur, Sunni and Kullu district headquarters also. Amidst all this, Congress leader Vikramaditya Singh gave a statement different from the party line on the issue of Waqf Board. Vikramaditya gave a statement in favor of reforming this law. Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh talked about the need for reforms in the Waqf Board. he/she wrote in a post on social media, ‘The best interests of Himachal and Himachali, complete development of Himachal everywhere. Jai Shri Ram! It is necessary to bring changes in every law with time. The Waqf Board also needs reform with the changing times.

Why is Congress in dilemma?

Congress has always been targeting BJP for its Hindutva image. Regarding the decisions being taken by the Congress, the Central Government and the states where BJP is in government, it is said that BJP is moving ahead with its thinking of Hindutva. After Virbhadra Singh in Himachal, his/her legacy is in the hands of his/her wife Pratibha Singh and his/her son Vikramaditya Singh. Pratibha Singh is also the state Congress president of the party. Now the Congress high command is in a dilemma due to the Yogi model that Vikramaditya is following. The special thing is that Pratibha Singh is also seen standing with her son.

The high command summoned

In such a situation, Vikramaditya’s rebellious attitude has become a cause of internal trouble for the Congress. The party does not want to give up ties with its old soldier. At the same time, the way Vikramaditya Singh has been standing for some time is definitely a dilemma for the party. Quoting sources, the news is also that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and the party high command are angry with Vikramaditya Singh’s remarks. The high command has summoned him/her to Delhi. Meanwhile, Pratibha Singh reached Delhi on Saturday. he/she met party general secretary KC Venugopal. Venugopal spoke to Vikramaditya Singh. Venugopal said that I informed him/her about the sentiments of the party. On this, Vikramaditya Singh said that the media had misrepresented his/her statement.
