Venus Orbiter Mission: What is Mission Shukrayaan, for which ISRO will build a spacecraft worth crores, when will it be launched, know everything

New Delhi: After the success of Mangalyaan and Chandrayaan, ISRO has now started preparing for the new mission Venus Orbiter Mission. Which has been named Mission Shukrayaan. Modi Cabinet has approved Mission Shukrayaan. After which ISRO will study about the planet Venus near the Earth. Let us tell you that a special spacecraft will be prepared for this mission.

What is this ISRO’s mission Shukrayaan

Like Chandrayaan, this mission of ISRO is also going to be very special. Through this mission, ISRO will try to understand Venus. To study Venus, ISRO will send a special spacecraft into space, which will orbit around Venus. During orbiting, it will send information about the surface, sub-surface, atmosphere and sun of that planet to ISRO.

What is the budget of Mission Shukrayaan?

ISRO received Rs 1,236 crore from the government for this mission. Out of which ISRO is going to spend Rs 824 crore on the spacecraft itself. Let us tell you that ISRO has started preparing for this mission. It is believed that ISRO can launch this mission in March 2028.

Why did the study of Venus become necessary

ISRO also wants to study Venus because this planet is closest to Earth. It is believed that there was life on Venus earlier and it was exactly like Earth, scientists say that earlier the climate there was like Earth. However, now Venus is not habitable. At present the temperature of that planet is 475 degrees Celsius, which can melt even glass. Along with this, the atmosphere there has also become poisonous.

Challenges of Mission Shukrayaan

There are many challenges in completing this mission of ISRO. The biggest challenge for ISRO is high temperature and pressure. Actually, the temperature of Venus is extremely high and the atmospheric pressure is also very high, which makes it challenging to keep the equipment safe. At the same time, its poisonous atmosphere can also create problems for ISRO. There are clouds of sulfuric acid in the atmosphere of Venus, which can be harmful to the equipment.
