Varun Dhawan told why his/her father David Dhawan did not launch him/her

Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan is the son of filmmaker David Dhawan. Despite this, he/she made his/her big screen debut with Karan Johar’s film ‘Student of the Year’. This movie was a super duper hit and all three actors shone with it. Now the actor has told why his/her father did not launch him/her. Speaking at the trailer launch of his/her niece Anjini Dhawan’s debut film ‘Binny and Family’, Varun said that there is no tradition of helping each other in his/her family. Dhawan said, ‘She is my niece, but I am here like an elder brother… It is a good film, so I am here. Like my father never launched me, because there is no such tradition in my family, he/she does not believe in it. Whatever Anjini has done, we have no hand in it and it would be wrong for me to take credit for any of her success.’

Varun said that Anjini has made her own way and he/she is very proud of her journey. Directed by Sanjay Tripathi, ‘Binny and Family’ shows the story of three generations, their relationship and the difficulties they face. Anjini Dhawan is playing the role of Binny in it. Produced by Mahaveer Jain Films and Wave Band Productions, the film will be released in theaters on September 20.

Varun had said something similar during the promotion of his/her first film. he/she told news agency PTI that David Dhawan did not support him/her in his/her film career nor did the filmmaker tell him/her that he/she should not become an actor. ‘he/she told me to become what I want. As a father, he/she supported me at every step of life and gave me all the things and comfort that I needed.’
