Urban voters disappointed in Maharashtra, least number of voters turned out from Mumbai, Pune and Thane, see the figures

New Delhi: Voting for the first and last phase of Maharashtra Assembly elections took place today. The figures that have come out after the completion of voting at 6 pm are not very encouraging. According to the Election Commission, low voter participation was seen in cities like Mumbai, Pune and Thane. Till 5 pm, 58.22 percent voting took place in Maharashtra and 67.59 percent voting took place in Jharkhand. At the same time, in Jharkhand in 2019, 67.04 percent voting took place on these assembly seats.Will it surpass 2019’s figure?
The Election Commission has said that the voting percentage in Maharashtra is likely to exceed the 2019 figure. Voting for the assembly elections was held in one phase in Maharashtra and in two phases in Jharkhand. The Election Commission said that in the last assembly and parliamentary elections, low turnout was recorded in urban areas of Maharashtra, due to which special attention was paid to creating voter awareness to ensure maximum turnout in urban areas.

More than 1,185 polling stations were set up in high-rise buildings and societies and film personalities were also included in the pre-poll campaigns to sensitize urban and young voters.

Where and how much voting in Maharashtra?
According to the data available at 5 pm, till now the highest voting percentage of 69.63 percent took place in Gadchiroli district. 68.43 percent voting took place in Aheri assembly seat of the district, 69.22 percent voting took place in Gadchiroli constituency and 71.26 percent voting took place in Armori. The State Election Commission has received 10,139 complaints of Model Code of Conduct violations on their app C-Vigil. Out of these, the Election Commission has claimed to resolve 10,134 complaints. Apart from this, the Commission has seized various properties worth Rs 706.98 crore.
