UPSC will give jobs to these disabled people after 16 years of passing the exam, documents of the candidates are not available even after searching!

Six months ago, the Supreme Court had directed UPSC to consider the appointment of 12 visually impaired candidates against the vacant posts under the disabled quota. Now UPSC has issued a public notice regarding the appointment of these candidates. It has been said in this information that it is not finding any details of these two candidates in its records. UPSC has asked these candidates to contact and provide their information.
Candidates fighting for UPSC appointment who appeared in the 2008 Civil Services Examination have been fighting the case in courts and tribunals for almost two decades to get appointment under the disabled quota. The Supreme Court had directed the authorities to consider appointment of these candidates under the quota within three months of its order.

A public notice issued by UPSC said that the dossiers containing documents and details of two candidates, Anil Kumar Singh and Hira Lal Nag, are ‘not available with UPSC’. For this reason, the Commission said that this information is being released to get in touch with them. Both the candidates are visually impaired and belong to the Other Backward Class (OBC) community.
The notice said that if response is not received within this time limit, ‘it may be assumed that these candidates are no longer interested in being considered for allocation of services…’

Let us inform that in July 2024, the Supreme Court had reprimanded the Central Government for failing to implement the provisions of the Persons with Disabilities Act and filling the backlog vacancies. UPSC has given 7 days time to the candidates to contact the organization with necessary details. So that services can be allotted to them as per the decision of the Supreme Court.
